The iconic, red-painted horseshoe magnet is something we all recognise and love. These staple magnets have been manufactured from the material known as Alnico for nearly 100 years and are still used to teach children about magnetism throughout the world. Alnico magnets are permanent magnets that are primarily made up of a combination of aluminium, nickel and cobalt.
