1 Spot Light Magnets
When fitting spotlights in the ceiling our F999N magnet can be used to find the positions of the wooden beams by attracting to the steel clout nails which are used to fix the plasterboard to the beams.
2 Ceramic Tile Magnets
A ceramic tile or tiled panel can be held in place with magnets so that it can easily be removed to access stop cocks or electrical junction boxes.
3 Bath Panel Magnets
Magnets are used to hold the bath panel in place so that in the event of a leak, it can be removed quickly without damaging the décor. Magnets are fitted to the bath frame and steel discs are fitted onto the bath panel.

Vacuum cleaners use powerful neodymium magnets in their motors to give high suction from the smallest and lightest motors.

Some expensive books and folders use thin neodymium magnets to keep them closed
10 Treadmill Magnets
Gym equipment such as treadmills tend to use magnets which pass a sensor as the machine moves to count revolutions and convert this into distance information.
11 Fridge / Freezer Magnets
Flexible Magnetic strips are used inside the rubber door seals to hold the door firmly shut and to provide a seal to keep the cold air inside.
12 Microwave Magnets
microwaves usually use two magnets in their internal Magnetron to guide the electrons to heat the food.

A food processor has a motor to turn the chopping blades and magnets are inside the motor.

Small magnets hold the tin lid, whist the can revolves during the opening operation
15 Kitchen Cuboard Magnets
– Magnetic catches are used to keep doors closed and some expensive hand finished kitchens have neodymium disc magnets hidden in the wooden doors and carcasses to provide hidden ‘invisible’ closures.
16 Window Bug Screen
Magnetic strips are used to hold removable bug screens to stop flies entering the house when the window is open.
17 Burglar Alarm
Burglar alarm contacts use a bar magnet to trigger a reed switch so the alarm knows of the window has been opened.
18 Magnetic Knife Rack
Sharp knives can be safely held on a knife rack on the wall. It is very dangerous to keep sharp knives in a drawer.Fridge magnets turn the front of a fridge into a huge notice board or art display.

often use magnets to interact with a magnetic cat flap to open the flap when a cat wearing the magnetic collar approaches.
20 Sink
Water conditioning magnets condition the water to dramatically reduce the amount of limescale build up on taps and in appliances
21 Integrated / Hidden Appliances
Magnets are used to make the wooden door stick to the metal front of an integrated washing machine.
22 Television Magnets
Television magnets were used to focus the pictures on older CRT tube displays but these are not needed on plasma and LED screens. Older TVs could be damaged if magnets were brought too close to them.
23 Smart Phone Magnets
Use small magnets to interact with a coil of wire to create the vibrate function. Without magnets they would not vibrate. Blackberry phones often have a magnet in their protective pouch which tells the phone to sleep when it is returned inside the pouch.
24 Laptop Magnets
Laptop Computers have a magnet in their hard drive and usually one in the lid so that the computer can tell if the lid is open or closed.

– Extending dining tables often have magnets in their extending leaves to hold them in place easily.
26 Telephone Magnets
Telephones use small magnets in their microphones and speakers to capture and emit sound.
27 Computer Screen Magnets
Computer screen magnets were used to focus the pictures on older CRT computer displays but are not needed on LED flat panel screens. CRT computer screens could be damaged if magnets were brought close to them
28 Speaker Magnets
All loud speakers have magnets which interact with the coil of wire in the speaker cone to cause sound. Small powerful speakers use Neodymium magnets to produce powerful sound.
29 Computer Hardware Magnets
All computers used to have a magnet inside their hard drives. Today an increasing number of hard drives are solid state drives which do not have magnets inside.
