These rectangular ferrite magnets, also known as ceramic magnets, are magnetised with a striped north-south polarity which focuses the magnetism on one face. The pole pitch runs across the width of the magnet and they also have a dimple on the non-magnetic face for easy identification. Ferrite magnets have a high resistance to corrosion and demagnetisation and their great advantage is that they can operate in temperatures of up to 180 degrees Celsius. These magnets are ideal for many applications where strength is not the most important factor such as craft making, model making and other non-technical applications.
