Neodymium Halbach Array Magnet 10 x 10 x 10mm with 2mm hole through the poles

Code: SP101H2-4

Strong neodymium cube magnet with a 2mm hole through the centre of the cube, running parallel to the magnetic axis. Ideal for creating a Halbach array when fitted to a rod and used with a magnet with a hole running perpendicular to the magnetic field, such as product code SP101H.

  • 10mm x 10mm x 10mm cube.
  • Each magnet has its north and south pole on the opposing faces with holes.
  • 2mm central hole through parallel faces to the magnetic axis.
  • Each magnet can support a steel weight of up to 4.8kg vertically from the magnetic face when in flush contact with a mild steel surface of equal thickness.
  • Coated with three layers of nickel, copper and nickel to reduce corrosion and provide a smooth finish.

These 10mm x 10mm x 10mm neodymium magnets are supplied with a 2mm hole that runs through the centre of the faces parallel to the axis of magnetism. These magnets are specifically designed to be placed on a non-magnetic rod and used with SP101H to produce a Halbach array. By sliding these magnets on to a rod with their north poles arranged in the following pattern – left, up, right, down, left – a Halbach array can be created. A Halbach array is an arrangement of permanent magnets which focuses the magnetic field on one face and almost cancels it out entirely on the opposite side. By doing this it increases the magnetic field on the magnetic side making it the nearest solution for achieving a monopole magnet.
