Optical Microscope Magnets

Magnets continue to play an extremely important role in new and emerging modern technology. Our team was recently contacted by Maurice of Objective Imaging Ltd.

Objective Imaging Ltd is a specialist company providing excellence and innovation for automated imaging applications in Microscopy. Maurice and his team had recently designed a new motorised stage for optical microscopes. To keep the parts of the imaging device both stable and easily accessible, which they needed to be, Maurice and his team tried a number of different solutions. After much trial and error he found that 2 magnets on a removable part and two magnets on the fixed device body enabled the device to be easily attached and detached when required.

Using the opposite polarities of each magnet on both the removable and fixed component meant that when inserted into the device the removable component “snapped” into place.

We are extremely pleased that our magnets managed to provide a solution for Maurice’s new product and we would like to thank him for sharing his application with us and for sending in some great photos.
