Magnet Expert Update Privacy Policy in-line with GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation comes into effect across the EU today, which is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals.

GDPR has been designed to protect EU Citizen’s data, which includes everything from email addresses to photos, names, bank details and computer IP addresses. Under GDPR guidelines, users have the right to access their data, to be completely forgotten, restrict usage and object to receiving marketing materials. In effect, GDPR gives the user complete control of their data and makes organisations more accountable, responsible and transparent.

In-line with GDPR, we have updated our Privacy Policy and invite you to keep up to date with our procedures and protocols. Within the policy, it explains; how we protect your privacy, how we use and regulate your information, our marketing and promotional materials, your rights as the customer and our changes on how we protect your privacy. If you have any questions regarding our privacy policy or how we are GPDR compliant, please do not hesitate to contact the Customer Care Team on 0845 519 4701 or email dataprivacy@magnetexpert.com.

In recent days, your email’s inbox will have received a multitude of emails with companies asking you to re-subscribe to their mailing list. In that fact, we are no different and have asked our customer base if they would like to continue to receive our email content. If you are reading this and realise you missed our emails to re-subscribe, simply go to ‘My Account’ and update your email preferences; we’ll then send you our latest offers, YouTube clips and business information!

Matthew Ellis, the Managing Director of Magnet Expert, spoke on the updated regulations:

“GDPR is a fantastic opportunity for businesses and customers alike to cleanse their data. It puts the public in control of their personal details whilst installing trust between them and the company in question. Magnet Expert is committed to building on our already stringent data protection policies in line with GDPR, ensuring personal data is always kept safe.”
