Haven House Children’s Hospice provides a home-from-home for seriously ill children and their families and since opening their doors eleven years ago have provided a caring, and above all, a happy environment for 500 children and their families.
Today, (Friday 19 December, 2014), the Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover team will be presenting a makeover of the Hospice’s woodland ‘Buddies Hut’. The previously dilapidated old summer house has, with the help of Peter Andre and his team, been transformed into an incredible new facility that can be used year-round by siblings of children being cared for at the Hospice, for group activities and important support sessions.
First4magnets was asked by the makers of the programme earlier in the year for their support in creating a magnetic whiteboard space in the Hut for children to use.
Matthew Ellis, Managing Director at first4magnets, explains: “Our brief was to supply child-friendly, boards, magnets and pens to help produce a creative space for young people. We were delighted to supply, completely free, a selection of magnetic whiteboards in different sizes and a range of accessories including brightly coloured ferrite magnets to use on the boards. We are delighted with how they have been used by the show’s designers.”
Jenni Anderson, Director of Income Generation and Marketing at Haven House Hospice added: “The new hut and surrounding area looks incredible. We could not have achieved this transformation without first4magnet’s support and our siblings will benefit enormously from the new facility – particularly as we can now use it in the winter.”
The programme aired on ITV at 2pm on Friday 19 December, but if you missed it you can watch it again on ITV Player. More details can be found on the programme’s website.
