We shall cover frequently asked questions, the different types of products and how to apply them, common applications and some tips and tricks from our experts!

Frequently asked questions:

Would magnets attract to the FerroFlex® surface?

FerroFlex® itself is not a magnet, it is made from a combination of extruded rubber and iron powder. Magnets love iron so will attract to the FerroFlex®. Our Neodymium magnets work well with FerroFlex® for creating a strong hold, perfect for holding applications that are slightly heavier than paper.

What is the difference between FerroFlex® and Magflex®?

As mentioned above FerroFlex® is not a magnet, whereas MagFlex® is. This creates confusion and assumptions that MagFlex® must be stronger or is better to use, however it depends on your application! Certain magnets such as Neodymium have greater magnetic performance and can actually damage the Magflex® by realigning the magnetic particles in the sheet. The result is that the sheet will be significantly weakened in the area(s) that you have placed the magnets. If you are wanting to use a flexible sheet with Neodymium magnet our experts advise using FerroFlex®.

Does it come with a self-adhesive backing?

Our FerroFlex® range consists of self-adhesive, to non-adhesive, to wallpaper, to cling-on fixing. Each  backing type is outlined in the products title, so if you require a FerroFlex® sheet to have self-adhesive backing, look out for it in the title. Below you will find a more in-depth description of each of the products and their various backings.

Self-Adhesive Range

Expert tip: Our number one rule for when you use any of our products with adhesive backing, is once you stick the product down, you must leave the adhesive to cure for 24-32 hours. If you don’t, you risk the product peeling away.

FerroFlex® Sheets

Flexible ferrous sheets give you the freedom to create a ferrous surface anywhere. We have a variety of FerroFlex® Sheets from adhesive backings, blackboard finishes to non-woven wallpapers. All designed to create endless creative possibilities!

Good to knows

The sheets themselves are not magnetic, they are in fact made from a ferrous material, which magnets attract to. For example, you could stick the sheet to a cupboard door and use magnets to pin up photos and notices.

How to apply?

Simply cut the required amount out, peel the adhesive backing off and stick to surface. Always leave the adhesive to cure for 24-32 hours.

FerroFlex® Tapes

Our FerroFlex® Tapes have a gloss white finish on the non-adhesive side, are ideal for making a surface that magnets will stick to. Use with Neodymium magnets to create stunning displays at home, in the office or at school.

Good to knows

The tape itself is not magnetic, it is in fact made from a ferrous material, which magnets attract to. The tapes come in a gloss white finish great for blending to white walls or cupboards when applied and due to their smaller size, allows for a more discreet finish for magnets to attract to.

How to apply?

Simply cut the required amount out, peel the adhesive backing off and stick to surface. Always leave the adhesive to cure for 24-32 hours.

Wallpaper Range

With our FerroFlex® ferrous non-woven wallpaper sheets you can turn walls into creative chalkboard or white board surfaces that magnets will attract to. Ideal in the home for bedrooms and kitchens, and in working environments such as classrooms, restaurants and offices.

Good to knows

The non-woven material is tear resistant, can be easily applied and can be removed totally dry and re-applied. This product is applied the same as all standard wallpapers but ensure that a heavy-duty paste is used.

Non-Adhesive Range

As part of the range we also offer a non-adhesive FerroFlex® sheet. These FerroFlex® sheets are ideal for making display or notice boards. Use with small but powerful Neodymium magnets to create stunning displays at home, in the office or at school and never have to use fiddly drawing pins again. Alternatively, this sheet can be used in magnetic shielding applications. Both sides of the ferrous sheet are plain black.

Good to knows

This product has the same purpose as other FerroFlex® sheets, but the main difference is how the product is applied to a surface. This product gives you the freedom to stick the product however you wish, providing you with the freedom to use your preferred choice of adhesive.

How to apply?

You can apply the sheet to your chosen surface using your own adhesives. Simply cover the sheet with the adhesive and stick and leave to cure for however long the adhesive you have used advises.

Cling-On Range

FerroFlex® Ultra flexible ferrous cling and gloss white dry-wipe sheets provide a superior hold for stronger magnets, ideal for creating instant whiteboards. Use with our small yet powerful Neodymium magnets to bring your whiteboard surface to life.

Good to knows

This product has the same purpose as other FerroFlex® sheets, but the main difference is how the product is applied to a surface. The cling backing uses static cling technology to easily adhere to smooth surfaces, and can be easily removed and reapplied.

How to apply?

To apply sheet to desired surface, film must be peeled away from back of sheet to ensure it adheres to surface sufficiently. This product has been designed to cling to ultra-smooth surfaces, including but not exclusive to glass, doors, plastic and smooth metal finishes.

Suitable Accessories

Once you’ve created your FerroFlex® surface it’s time to customise and add some personality with our planning board magnets and office accessories. As mentioned before our experts recommend using Neodymium magnets, our skittle and high-power planning board magnets are perfect for this. Or why not try our magnetic pouches and display sleeves? Ideal for holding whiteboard pens and other writing equipment, whilst the display sleeves allow you to store artwork and aiding visual management in the workplace.
