5 Quick Ways to Use Magnets Around Your Home

Home DIY and improvements became extremely popular over the last two years and have seen a number of our customers get in touch to question how magnets can be used in their DIY projects around the home.

There are several ways in which our magnets can be used to improve your home and we’ve put together five of the most creative and amazing ways that our magnets have been used around the home to improve and innovate DIY projects.

Using Countersunk Magnets on Bi-Folding Doors

When it comes to summertime who doesn’t love having their doors open to let in the fresh air and keep your home cooler, but the wind can be an issue.

However, using our rubber coated countersunk magnets one customer was able to keep his doors securely opened and even protected them from a hard impact when they fold into each other.

These magnets are countersunk on both sides and have a north and south facing side, the rubber coating is great for any outdoor applications as they are protected from corrosion.

By screwing a north facing magnet in one door and a south facing magnet in the other door allows them to attract to provide a secure hold between the doors.

Creating Wardrobe Closures with Countersunk Magnets

Countersunk magnets are ideal for fixing to a non-magnetic surface and the perfect tool for applications such as furniture fixings, hanging artwork and keeping cupboard doors and draws shut.

Their countersunk holes allow them to be screwed into place, with the screw sitting flush into the magnet, using opposite poles allows two surfaces to be attracted together. One customer used these magnets on their wardrobe doors.

As you can see from the pictures the countersunk magnets are simple and easy to install and hold the door securely in place, whilst being able to easily open when needed.
